Winter Dubai & Maldives

from €2759 per person
If you are looking for a vacation that offers the perfect combination of opulence and relaxation then the dual destinations of Dubai and the Maldives are just right.

The United Arab Emirates' desert metropolis of Dubai is synonymous with grandeur, indulgence and glamour. You can marvel at the splendid hotels or check out the Dubai Fountains that shoot water as high as a 50-storey building.

Take a trip up the Tower of Arabs and marvel at this mighty city from above then take in some natural wonders with trips to Dolphin Bay and the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve.

From here fly to the Indian Ocean paradise of the Maldives. This collection of idyllic islands is what springs to mind when you think of an island getaway.

If you desire white sand beaches, inviting lagoons, clear seas, unrivaled diving spots and amazing wildlife then a vacation to the Maldives is just what you need.

Learn about the fascinating history of this nation with a trip to the National Museum on Male Island or kick back and relax on Sun Island beach.

One of the most rewarding activities to do is a spot of diving and snorkeling and Banana Reef is one of the best areas to see the wonders of the sea.

Tara Moffatt As the Meeru Island Resort is slightly larger island than some others in Maldives it seemed there was plenty to do in our week. On the island itself you have sports facilities like tennis, badminton, football, golf, etc. The excursions we went on were the sun set cruise (included free), a visit to a local island and beginners' diving.

  • Tipping is not compulsory in the Maldives as 10% service charge is added to everything an usual is added into your hotel charge.
  • Islam is the predominant religion in the Maldives. However, the resort islands are very relaxed and casual dress is the norm. Note though that beachwear is not acceptable in the restaurant(s) on resort islands or away from the resorts.
  • The UAE is extremely safe for women travellers, nevertheless women travelling alone are a novelty and you may find yourself at the focus of unwanted attention. You will probably have a more relaxed visit if you stay in one of the four or five star hotels, especially if you can use the hotel's private beach facilities.
