On this vacation you will safari in the world-famous Kruger National Park. This enormous reserve is home to cheetahs, elephants, rhinos and lots more and is a must for animal enthusiasts. A visit to Swaziland is also on the cards and it is a great chance to see their traditional culture up close and shop in the craft markets. You will also drive up through the mist-shrouded Ubombo Mountains and be rewarded with captivating views of Lake Jozini. South Africa doesn’t just have amazing natural resources, it also has some fascinating and welcoming cities and with stops in Durban and Port Elizabeth you will get to enjoy the juxtaposition of wild landscapes and urban hubs packed with history and culture.

Day 1

JOHANNESBURG

Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel for your overnight stay.

Day 2

JOHANNESBURG TO MPUMALANGA

Leave Johannesburg and travel to Mpumalanga – via the spectacular Panorama Route. Along this route you will pass through the stunning area of Blyde River Canyon. Make a pit-stop at the famous God’s Window which boasts magnificent views over the canyon. Check-in late afternoon at your accommodation for a two night stay.

Day 3

MPUMALANGA

Travel on an open-top vehicle safari through the famous Kruger National Park. The world-renowned Kruger National Park offers once in a lifetime game drives and bush walks with wildlife experiences that are rated as some of the best in Africa. Grab your binoculars and camera and capture the fiery African sunrise and watch as the park's wildlife wake and flock to the waterholes early in the morning. Later, in the afternoon, take some down time or opt to go back to the park for an evening safari (payable locally).

Day 4

MPUMALANGA TO THE KINGDOM OF SWAZILAND

Drive to the small Royal Kingdom of Swazilan. This small mountainous region is packed with bygone African traditions and culture. Also, here you can find spectacular scenery and places of interest such as game reserves. While visiting this kingdom, you can soak up traditional Swazi culture, followed by lunch at the Matsamo Cultural Village. A highlight of this visit is observing glass crafts people at work and a trip to the Mbabane craft markets. Transfer to the Ezulwini Valley to check in to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 5

SWAZILAND TO KWAZULU NATAL

First thing you will visit the Swazi Candle Factory, and then you will continue via Big Bend into KwaZulu Natal, the elephant coast. Enjoy a beautiful drive into the Ubombo Mountains with stunning panoramic views over Lake Jozini. Then on to experience an authentic Zulu homestead before check-in at your hotel for a two night stay.

Day 6

KWAZULU NATAL

Spend the morning at your own leisure. In the afternoon, you will journey to the famous Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve for a game drive.

Day 7

KWAZULU NATAL TO DURBAN

Set off the next morning along the Elephant Coast to St Lucia for an estuarine boat trip to see all types of native wildlife. Then on to Durban, a bustling city which boast Eastern and Western influences. Check in to your accommodation for an overnight stay.

Day 8

DURBAN TO PORT ELIZABETH

Discover Durban during a city tour before your flight to Port Elizabeth (flight not included). Upon arrival transfer to your accommodation for your overnight stay.

Day 9

PORT ELIZABETH TO PLETTENBERG BAY

Depart for the Tsitsikamma National Park. Enjoy a walk along the suspension bridge across the Storms River mouth gorge, then continue to Plettenberg Bay and check-in at your accommodation for two nights.

Day 10

PLETTENBERG BAY

Begin with a trip to the Knysna Elephant Sanctuary. Then, depart to Plettenberg Bay to visit to the Birds of Eden, the largest free-flight bird aviary in the world. The Birds of Eden facility creates a safe environment in which to release a large number of free-flight African birds. The sanctuary also allows native bird owners to apply to release their pet birds into the sanctuary, after undergoing rehabilitation.

Day 11

PLETTENBERG BAY TO OUDTSHOORN

Take an educational cruise up the Keurbooms River. Then continue to the lagoon side town of Knysna also known locally as the gem of the Garden Route. Take some downtime at the Knysna Waterfront Complex before travelling to Oudtshoorn to take a guided tour of a working ostrich farm. Take an overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 12

OUDTSHOORN TO CAPE TOWN

Take an early morning excursion to the Cango Caves before travelling to Cape Town and checking in at your hotel for three nights. The Cango Caves is situated in a limestone ridge which lies parallel to the Swartberg Mountains. Inside you will find great examples of dripstone caverns, with vast halls and towering formations.

Day 13

CAPE TOWN

Take a Cape Point and Peninsula Tour, where you will take in the beautiful scenery of the local beaches and picturesque coastal villages all the way to the towering headland known as Cape Point.

Day 14

CAPE TOWN

Take advantage of your close proximity to the Cape Winelands. Drive a few hours outside of Cape Town to the winelands, passing through magnificent mountain ranges, vineyards, and native homesteads. The winelands boast the best scenery in South Africa, a truly spectacular landscape of luscious wine hills and mountains.

Day 15

CAPE TOWN

After a morning city tour of Cape Town, enjoy some free time before transferring back to the airport for your onward journey.
