Praslin Holidays

Praslin Travel Guide

Imagine the Garden of Eden: Velvet jungles tangling in a gentle breeze graceful ribbons of pristine, powder-soft sand, tropical bays caressed by topaz waters. This is the island of Praslin, a gem floating in the crown that is the Seychelles. We love digging our toes into the silky sand of Anse Lazio, consistently voted the best beach in the Seychelles. Here  verdant forests drop into gin-clear water bordered by giant granite boulders. Sit back and enjoy paradise.

Snorkelling and Scuba Diving

The crystalline waters that surround Praslin make it excellent for snorkelling and scuba diving. Head to Channel Rock, a massive chunk of granite covered with corals and sponges, home to colourful fish, white tip sharks, turtles, and gentle whale sharks. Explore the Ennerdale, a famous wreck located between Mahe and Praslin, roamed by shoals of blue striped snappers, barracudas, giant cod, and giant moray eels

Vallee de Mai

The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Vallée de Mai is home to the rare coco de mer palms that produce the largest seed in the world. Weighing up to 30 kilos, these massive seeds are thought by some to be the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Explore this verdant nature reserve's three trails and catch sight of the Seychelles black parrot, mammals, reptiles, and crustaceans, as well as several varieties of tropical trees.

Cousin Island

The entire island is a nature reserve and is paradise for ornithologists, with some 300,000 birds making their homes here. Walk through thick forests with birds nesting all around you, including Seychelles warblers (which were once almost extinct), magpie-robins, Malagasy turtle doves, sunbirds, noddies, bridle terns, and many more.

If golf is your game, Praslin holidays features the 18-hole, par-70 golf course a Lemuria Resort. This is the only island outside of Mahe that has golfing. Make your way along the beautiful course and see sweeping vistas of Petite and Grande Anse Kerlan and the stunning Anse Georgette. The green fees are complimentary if you are staying at the hotel.
