Our top 5 tips for what to expect on Ovation of the Seas
Ovation of the Seas, the newest addition to the Royal Caribbean fleet, has arrived, and she really is something special! Ovation of the Seas is the third ship in the innovative ‘Quantum Class’, joining Anthem of the Seas and Quantum of the Seas. Our Travelmood travel expert Amanda was lucky enough to step aboard this game-changing ship recently. Here are Amanda’s top 5 tips for what to expect before you set sail.
A holiday on Ovation of the Seas offers passengers the chance to experience beautiful beaches and captivating cities. Choose to visit a selection of exciting destinations including China, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand. At Travelmood we can tailor make an itinerary just for you – find out more here.
2. Asian influence
Ovation of the Seas was built specifically for the Chinese market, so don’t be surprised when you are greeted with dual signage on board (English and Chinese). Gigi the giant giraffe, who resides on Anthem of the Seas, has also been replaced by a large mother panda and baby panda – ‘Mama and Baby’. Keeping with the Asian theme, the ship also features a ‘Kung Fu Panda’ noodle shop.
3. Be entertained
With a wide variety of shows and entertainment on-board, you certainly won’t have trouble filling your evenings! One of the highlights has to be the famous ‘Mamma Mia’ – guaranteed to have you up on your feet and shaking your hips. Another favourite of mine was wildly popular ‘Spectra’s Cabaret’, a colourful, rhythmic and dazzling experience. Make sure you book your shows in advance to avoid disappointment
4. Deck Plan
Built with the wow-factor in mind, Ovation of the Seas has a passenger capacity of 4,180 and boasts an impressive tonnage of 168,666 GT. With 18 decks and a length of 1,142ft, she really is an impressive piece of engineering. Check out the Ovation of the Seas deck plan below.
If it’s world-class cuisine that you’re after then you’ve come to the right place! Your palette is in for a real-treat during your sailing with plenty of options for you to choose from. There are fancy restaurants, kid-friendly cafes and laid-back eateries – something to please everyone! Ovation of the Seas features restaurants by three celebrity chefs; Jamie Oliver, Michael Schwartz and Devin Alexander. Make sure you check out the ‘American Icon Restaurant’ – my personal favourite during my time at sea! As with the shows, try and book your dining in advance as restaurants can get busy in the evenings.
