Here we list the best of the bunch for honeymoon destinations 2017
Planning a wedding can be stressful – but that doesn’t mean planning the honeymoon has to be! Travelmood have a fantastic selection of tailor made packages to exotic honeymoon destinations 2017. Our Travelmood honeymoon specialist Denise has helped hundreds of happy couples to plan the perfect trip to begin their married life with. Here she shares her top honeymoon destinations 2017…
If you are picturing white sands, azure blue waters and beautiful sunshine for your honeymoon, then the Maldives is just the destination for you. A picture-perfect group of tropical islands, the Maldives offers the ideal location in which to hide away with your significant other.
Upon arriving to the airport in Male, you can choose to sea plane or speedboat to your resort’s island – seaplane is always what I advise my clients to do. The memory of flying over the vibrant Indian Ocean with your other half is one that will stay with you forever!
You can look forward to days spent scuba diving or enjoying the spa and nights spent dining on fantastic local cuisine. This is a perfect honeymoon destination for those of you that want a really secluded getaway.
For lovebirds that want something a bit more lively then Mexico is the place for you. Mexico is a vibrant and colourful destination which offers something for everyone, from culture vultures to night owls.
Choose world-famous Cancun and you can look forward to sun, sand and surf. Located on the northeast coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, this beach resort is a haven for water sports lovers who descend on the region to enjoy the world-renowned coral reef diving.
Downtown Cancun, although less glamorous than the flashy beachfront, offers tourists the opportunity to get up close and personal with the locals and get a real feel for Mexican culture. Venture downtown and you can look forward to busy markets, street vendors and local, budget-friendly restaurants.
If you want your honeymoon to have a mix of relaxation, culture, adventure and romance, then you should consider Thailand. This beautiful country is home to an array of resorts – each one as stunning as the next.
If it’s scenery that you’re after then choose Koh Samui. This sun lover’s paradise offers a range of accommodation options, from authentic beach bungalows to luxury all-inclusive hotels. During the day you can choose to laze away on the white sands or keep active by kayaking or snorkelling.
For honeymooners that prefer to be at the centre of the action, Bangkok has all the hustle and bustle that you crave. Thailand’s capital is undoubtedly one of Asia’s most exciting cities – featuring vibrant streets, loud locals and an unmistakable energy. Bangkok is home to over 30 temples, the largest of which is the Temple of the Reclining Buddha. Another draw for tourists is the famous floating market which is well worth a look.
South Africa, with its picturesque backdrops, bustling cities, beautiful beaches and world-famous wine, is in the running for me as the TOP honeymoon destination for 2017.
One of the biggest tourist attractions in South Africa is of course safari tours. With so many companies offering tours, it’s very easy to find one that’s within your budget. Getting up close and personal with the ‘big 5’ is a must-do when visiting this destination.
Another reason that South Africa has been drawing Europeans over the last number of years is the value for money it offers. Once you have exchanged your Euro’s you will be surprised how long your cash lasts! Food, drink and accommodation are all fantastic value for money.
For those of you looking for culture and atmosphere, make sure Johannesburg is on your to-do list. There is no better place to visit to learn about the history of this fascinating country. If it’s beaches that you want then keep Durban, and its Golden Mile beachfront in mind.
The Indonesian island of Bali is popular among honeymooners as it offers both relaxation and adventure. With its volcanoes, rice fields, lakes, forests and beaches, Bali really does deserve the description of ‘exotic paradise’.
You will be spoiled for choice when it comes to choosing a destination in Bali for your honeymoon. Kuta, with its picture-perfect beach, is extremely popular. However, move further along the east coast and you will find much more peaceful resorts which are set in extremely romantic surroundings.
For hikers, Bali offers many rugged paths from which to explore this tropical island. Hike to the summit of Mount Batur and you will be rewarded with unforgettable views. Or, hire a tour guide to take you deep into the jungle where you can become acquainted with the local monkeys – just keep a hold of your belongings!
There you go; my personal choices for the top honeymoon destinations 2017, there are of course many other destinations that are perfect for that romantic getaway. Still undecided?
