Once a sleepy fishing village, this is now Fuerteventura’s largest resort and has become a charming port town. Corralejo's famous white-sand beach features a spectacular 7 kilometre arc of dunes and the area has become a national park. With plenty of places to shop, dine and drink, restaurants here specialise in mouth-watering seafood, while cafés, a bandstand and folklore performances add a flourish of local colour. The real attractions are the marvellous beaches, both here and 3 kilometres along the coast at Grandes Playa, and the island’s windsurfing draws enthusiasts from the world over. For a little adventure, it is just a leisurely ferry ride to Lanzarote, with its lunar-like landscapes.
