Introduction
Set within the Gold Coast Hinterland and in the Border Ranges, Lamington National Park is located on the northern side of the Tweed volcano and is the largest preserved subtropical rainforest in Australia. The dramatic landscape of ridges and valleys provide a home to over 120 species of birds and 900 varieties of vascular plants. Take any of the walking trails to pass some of the renowned sites of waterfalls, Aboriginal cooking caves, Coomera Gorge, Echo Point and Picnic Rock. Take the unique walking tracks around Binna Burra and the Green Mountains; for fantastic views over the surrounding landscapes the Tree Top Trail is well recommended. Discover dramatic look out points which afford views over the Gold Coast, south east Queensland and northern New South Wales.
